Digital Media Performance on Dec. 13th
Experience the creative power of technology with Lake Erie Ink students and Dee Jay Doc.
Join us in Ensemble Theater (across the hall from LEI) as students showcase their digital creations. Guided by the dynamic Dee Jay Doc and thanks to a grant from the Nord Foundation, youth at LEI have had the chance to work on iPads to find beats and write lyrics. Dubbed “Ripple FX,” this year’s digital media project has been especially concerned with impact and influence – the way our actions have ripples that spread out and touch people we may never meet.
Students will use turntables, ipads and microphones to improvise sound tracks to short videos. Live music video installations will explore the idea of starting a ripple and watching its effects. Students will lyrically describe the life experiences that cause ripples in their individual spheres of influence. All poetry and rap pieces are being created to their own custom beats made on the ipads.
The performance will start at 6:30 pm and is open to the public.
