Exciting Teen Programming All Summer Long
There are plenty of ways for teens to get involved at Lake Erie Ink this summer! Here are a few:
- Kick off summer at LEI with our first June open mic, Saturday June 7th from 7:00-9:00 PM. Guest poets, pizza, time to write and share.
- The open mic schedule will continue on Friday, June 20th with our second summer open mic in Ensemble Theatre’s space, just down the hall from Lake Erie Ink. For a list of teen slams and open mics check out the One Mic Open schedule.
- Tuesday evening teen workshops continue all summer long from 7:00-8:30 PM. Write poems, stories, and more. Meet other teen writers. Participate in open mics during Coventry Village Local Tuesdays.
- Two weeks of summer camp are reserved for teen participants. July 14th-18th, teens can participate in a digital media camp with Dee Jay Doc. That week teens will have the chance to create digital stories and make music videos. No cost. Then, August 4th-8th, teens are invited to “Writing Outside the Box,” a camp that explores the intersection of art and writing. Regular camp fee of $110 applies with full and partial scholarships available.
- Need to get some volunteer hours this Summer? volunteering for LEI’s youth summer camps are a fun way to do it. Email staff@lakeerieink.org for more information or download our application.
