Guests Mary Turzillo and Geoffrey A. Landis represent the breadth of science fiction and fantasy writing. Mary has received many awards for her short fiction and science fiction poetry, including her novella, Mars is No Place for Children, which won the 2000 SFWA Nebula award for best novelette, and her collection of poems, Your Cat and Other Space Aliens, which was nominated for a Pushcart award. Her husband, Geoffrey A. Landis, is a writer and a scientist working at NASA. He was awarded the 2014 Robert A. Heinlein award for outstanding published works in science fiction in recognition of Mr. Landis’ body of work including five books, 83 short stories and 76 poems in the SF field as well as over 353 science fact publications. He has received numerous Hugo and Nebula awards. At NASA he works on Mars missions.
These two writers live and work together in Northeast Ohio and have cheerfully agreed to sacrifice a morning of fencing lessons to meet with young writers at Lake Erie Ink.
This program is supported in part by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
