Lake Erie Ink Sends Teen Delegates to Puerto Rico!
On August 8, 2019, 130 accomplished young writers from around the world will meet with activists, political leaders, and other changemakers, at the International Congress of Youth Voices Summit, to learn and collaborate as they seek to make a positive impact in their communities.
The delegates participating in the summit hail from 26 countries around the globe. Lake Erie Ink is a proud member of the International Alliance of Youth Writing Centers and has nominated three delegates from Cleveland, as a part of the IAYWC, who will be attending the summit later this summer. Those three individuals are Tess Kelly, Grace Yoo, and Ayelet Travis.
“Last year’s Congress was one of the most inspiring weekends of my life,” said summit founder Dave Eggars. “Teens are so optimistic and so free of obfuscation and indecision. They think clearly about issues and they get things done. And there’s never been a time when young activists were more powerful and more willing to use that power.”
The Lake Erie Ink staff and greater community wish Tess, Ayelet, and Grace a safe journey and are looking forward to hearing stories from the event. Bon voyage!
