Summer Camp Highlights
After 4 weeks of summer camp, we have seen the talents and creativity of young authors shine! Here are some highlights.
Comics & Graphics Storytelling had 19 creators! The process involved developing characters, brainstorming plot lines with group games, and learning from published comic book authors. Molly, age 10, said that she had never made a comic before but that this camp has taught her “how to make comics unique.” Malcolm, age 13, has experience making comics but said that this camp has inspired him to try out new ideas. “It’s a fun challenge, a challenge that you want to do,” he says.
On July 9, two brand new LEI summer camps were launched: Young Novelists and Stage Write Comedy totaling 38 creators. In the main classroom, the walls are lined with books where young authors are hard at work developing and refining their very own fiction novel. Just down the hall, future comedians are having a Q and A with two Cleveland professionals. You are invited to see the hard work pay off at their culminating presentations.
