20th Annual Teen Poetry Slam 1/24
Join us at the 20th Annual Teen Poetry Slam! Hosted by Heights Libraries, Heights High School, and Lake Erie Ink, the slam is open to students in grades 8-12. Poets should have 3 poems ready to perform for a panel of guest judges. This year, we encourage poets to take inspiration for their poems from NEA Big Read book “Citizen – An American Lyric” by Claudia Rankine. Prizes will be awarded, and the winning poet will also be invited to perform at an upcoming county-wide poetry slam. Email teen@heightslibrary.org to register, or just come watch and support!
If you want to enter the poetry slam but need some help, Lake Erie Ink is hosting two workshops for students interested in competing. Drop by on Wednesday, January 16 or Wednesday, January 23 at 3:30pm for some inspiration!
