New Ideas from LEI Kids
A lot has changed in 2019, and as we start 2020, Lake Erie Ink is committed to bringing new ideas into the new year.
Who better to come up with new ideas then some of our Lake Erie Ink regulars? We asked the some of the big thinkers from our Creative play Days program what kind of new ideas we need for 2020.
“A little dog house that looks like a suitcase but turns into a dog house.”
That was the first idea on the table was “A little dog house that looks like a suitcase but turns into a dog house.” Questions were asked about the size of the suitcase, but it was explained that the dog house would fold out, much like a tent. Pets continued to be a general theme, as one kid thought we could all use “lotion to wash cats without water”. Cats everywhere would agree.
Besides new inventions, we wondered what from 2019 should change in 2020. A lot of kids thought global warming could do with a major shift. “stopping pollution” was the answer two kids gave. Others thought closer to home, noting that a good change would be “my baby brother not crying all the time.”
We wanted some ideas for things we could put into action. What would have to happen for us to see the change we want? “Plant some trees”, many kids agree. One little girl got even more specific, noting we should stop the hunting of elephants and two horned narwhals. (if you want to help stop the hunting of elephants, click this link). Others felt we should work on scientific advancements. “Scientists should create a machine so we could get gills.” Why? To swim underwater, of course.
One younger boy said that in 2020 he hoped that “for this world to be a better place”.
It wasn’t all new inventions and scientific advancements in our think tank. One younger boy said that in 2020 he hoped that “for this world to be a better place”While we may not be able to invent a lotion to clean cats, grow gills, or even stop younger brothers from crying, Lake Erie Ink believes that with quality creative programming, we can make this world just a little bit better in 2020.
