Comedic Writing & Improv
Thursdays | 4-5 PM
Write comedy, using improvisation games to inspire and develop your ideas. Using improvisational games, writing exercises, and different genres of comedic work, we will work to develop our own short comedic pieces. Students’ work may be shared online through video or publication on Lake Erie Ink website and Tumblr. Comedic Writing & Improv will run weekly on Thursdays for 4 sessions and is for youth grades 6 – 12.

Teaching Improvised Storytelling, Let’s Get Crafty, and Learn to Write Funny, Randee is an alumni of Second City Training Center where she studied improv, writing, and storytelling. She also studied Creative Arts and Social Change at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Randee loves writing, performing, and creating art. She is involved in local comedy and (now virtually) with her comedy group, Whiskey & Cheese. When she is not teaching or doing the above, she likes cooking and playing board games with her son and husband. Randee works with Lake Erie Ink as our Ink Spot Coordinator. How to Participate
- Register for a program on our website.
- Download Zoom software on your computer, phone or tablet.
- Feel free to test out your hardware and software by experimenting with Zoom.
- Look for an email from your workshop facilitator explaining how to log onto zoom.
- You will receive a link to join a zoom meeting at the scheduled time.
- Make sure you are connected to the internet using WiFi or cellular.
- Log on, click yes for video and audio and enjoy.
Hint: Add the workshop dates to your calendar so you don’t forget to log on. Notice the time zone if you are not in EST.
