Free College Essay Workshops Coming to a Library Near You 11/22 + 12/10
There is one element of the college application process that lets students stand out among a slew of quantitative information (i.e. GPA, test scores, and the number of college prep courses on your transcripts). That is, the personal statement. Sitting down and writing the paragraphs that are meant to represent you so well can be a challenging task for many. But, dread no more. Lake Erie Ink is here to help.
This winter, Lake Erie Ink will host a series of college essay workshops for college-bound juniors and seniors. During the sessions, youth will identify the stories that make them unique and learn to express them in a compelling way – all while receiving assistance from experienced writers.
Workshops will take place November 22 at the Warrensville Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library as well as December 10 at the Shaker Heights Public Library. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required by phone or at lakeerieink.org/register. Students can bring a draft of their application essay or start one while they’re here.
