For Teachers
Professional Development
There are so many demands on teachers and students alike, that sometimes creative writing loses its place in the school. Creative writing motivates students because it is personal, relevant and imaginative.
Students who have the opportunity to write creatively develop more fluency and confidence as writers. Lake Erie Ink supports writing in your classroom with professional development for you and classroom workshops for your students.
Bring Lake Erie Ink to Your School
Lake Erie Ink loves helping students and teachers have fun and achieve success with writing–so whatever the topic or task, we are happy to help plan, motivate, design, and assist students and teachers with writing across the curriculum. You only have to ask.
Students in a Lake Erie Ink Residency at St. Rocco School culminated in a poetry slam!
Lake Erie Ink supports school teachers by collaborating with them on writing projects that fulfill and exceed the educational state standards, meeting the needs of teachers and students both academically and developmentally. Projects may be thematically integrated or genre-based. In-school collaborations can vary in duration and support the entire writing process. Volunteers from Lake Erie Ink provide extra support as writing coaches during revision. Projects often culminate in publication, performance or presentation. What Teachers Say about Lake Erie Ink
