For grades 6-12. Limited scholarships are available for all programs. All programs take place at Lake Erie Ink’s Coventry location unless otherwise noted. Summer registration is open now; click the register button at the bottom of the page to sign up!
Reduced cost for Cleveland Heights families!
We are pleased to announce that we have received ARPA (American Recovery Plan Act) funding from the city of Cleveland Heights, which will reduce costs for Cleveland Heights residents to attend our summer programs. Lake Erie Ink’s daytime summer camps will now cost only a $25 fee per camp for Cleveland Heights families.
Summer Camps
Grades 4-8
Young Novelists | June 17-28 | 1-4pm | $225
Both new and experienced young novelists will plot out novels from start to finish, creating an idea for a conflict and having their characters navigate their way through to the end of the book. Gain the tools necessary to write a novel in two weeks!
Graphic Stories and Zines | July 15-26 | 1-4pm | $250
Do you love Comics? Do you love Zines? Do you happen to enjoy occasional memes? If you said yes to any or all of these questions, you might enjoy Graphic Stories and ‘Zines. Explore the art of linking words and art, create through drawing, prints, collaging, and any other form combining words and imagery.
Legends in the Making: D&D Story Games | July 29-Aug 9 | 1-4pm | $250
In this program, campers will embark on epic adventures, solve puzzles, and battle fearsome creatures as they develop their storytelling and teamwork skills. Learn about LARPing (Live Action Roleplaying), the art of Cosplay, how to be a Dungeon Master, and more. Join us for a two-week journey into the realms of mystery, magic, and adventure where every decision leads to a new chapter in the grand saga of storytelling!
Grades 6-8
Content Creators | July 8-12 | 1-4pm | $125
Through hands-on activities, workshops, and group projects, participants will learn the fundamentals of storytelling, script development, and creative content creation. Participants will have the opportunity to bring their ideas to life and share their creativity with the world. Whether it’s scripting a short film, creating engaging social media content, or developing a podcast, this camp empowers young creators to express themselves and explore the exciting world of digital media.
Face the College Essay Workshops
The college essay helps students stand out as they tell their unique story in response to the Common App and other prompts. Write an essay featuring YOU. Learn strategies for brainstorming essay topics, review the Common App, and start your first essay. Receive feedback and coaching to finish, revise and polish your essay.

Dungeons & Dragons: Story Games
Wednesdays | 4th-8th grade | June 12-July 31 | 6-8pm | $120
Join a Dungeons & Dragons campaign! Participants will create their own character and epic tale that will guide them through the story game.
Please note: Monday D&D and Critics’ Club are cancelled.

Pride Outside: LGBTQ+ Voices
Mondays | 6:30-8pm | June 10-July 22 | FREE
Pride Outside is a unique program designed to provide a safe and inclusive space for young individuals within the LGBTQ+ community and allies to explore and express their creative writing talents. Through workshops, group discussions, and public art, teens will have the opportunity to develop their writing skills, hone their storytelling abilities, and contribute to a vibrant collection of LGBTQ+ literature.
Poetry in the Park
Thursdays | 6:30-8pm | June 13-July 18 | FREE
Poetry in the Park is a teen program that invites young poets and poetry enthusiasts to come together and express themselves in the serene setting of a local park. This program provides a platform for teenagers to share their original poems, engage in open mic sessions, and participate in creative writing workshops. This program meets at Lake Erie Ink’s classroom space and then goes outside into Coventry PEACE Park.

Have You Heard? Teen Podcasting Workshop
Mondays & Tuesdays | July 8-30 | 5-8pm | FREE
Calling all podcasters and audio storytellers! In this intensive summer workshop just for teens, you’ll report, write and produce a short nonfiction audio story about your life or community… in just four weeks! You’ll learn how to gather sound, do interviews, pull tape, write scripts… and get an awesome audio story together. Finished pieces will be shared in a special exhibition at the close of the workshop. Participants who complete the program and share their work at the exhibition will receive a stipend.
