Write Out Loud!
Lake Erie Ink is proud to offer creative expression opportunities for LGBTQ+ youth and allies. We call these collections of programs Write Out Loud. See below for current Write Out Loud programs.
Inside Out
Queer teen writers and allies will share their stories and experiences while working on individual and collaborative writing projects. We will explore queer fiction, personal narrative, and poetry, and try our hand at all three of these genres, pulling from personal experience in our craft.
Inside Out meets virtually through zoom this summer from 6/14 – 7/26, 6:30 – 8 PM for grades 6-12. Register today!
Pride Outside
This summer, LGBTQ youth will use their creativity to spread pride throughout the Cleveland area. Work alongside other LGBTQ teens to lead and participate in creative expression projects and community building activities. The goal of Pride Outside is to create and display creative works featuring queer experiences, identities and themes throughout our city that send a positive message about being out and proud.
Teens in grades 6-12th are invited to an info session where we will share ideas and kick off this new program. Join us from 6:00-7:00 pm on Thursday, June 3rd. We will touch base and share ideas about how to build community and spread LGBTQ pride through art a and writing. Fill out the form below to register:
If you are interested, but can’t make the info session let us know by emailing cordelia@lakeerieink.org we will reach out to you.
PRIDE OUTSIDE will meet mostly in person outdoors throughout the summer, with occasional virtual sessions. The group will meet regularly Thursdays from 6-7:30 PM. Participants in the Pride Outside program will receive a stipend for their participation.
