Stirring the Plot: A Community Cookbook

This summer, LEI needs your help for our creative community cookbook! Stirring the Plot is our second cookbook featuring recipes and creative pieces submitted from community members across Greater Cleveland. This summer’s theme is “Place and Palate.”
SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 4TH!
- Submissions are open until Monday, September 4th.
- Open to creators of all ages (anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian’s permission to submit).
- All genres of art and writing are accepted, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, comics, photos, drawings, and paintings.
- All images will be printed no larger than 5×7″; all written pieces must be 250 words or less.
- Recipes must be one page or less (approximately 500 words).
- LEI will make final decisions about editing and publishing.
- Maximum of 2 submissions per person.
Not sure where to start? Check out the prompts below to get some ideas:
- What do you eat when you are far from home?
- Describe the strangest or most interesting place you have ever had a meal.
- Where do you have the most memories related to food?
- Some say you are what you eat, how does food identify who we are?
- When, where and why do you make/eat your favorite recipe?
- What place does this meal/dish bring to mind?
- Draw a map of your favorite foods. Tell a story about each location.
- Take a picture of your favorite place to eat.
- Create a story that happens around a dinner table (real or fictional).
